Scott R. Galvin-USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Browns have always been a classy organization. On Tuesday, the Browns  signed back two former players to one-day deals so they could retire as members of the team in wide receiver Rashard Higgins and linebacker Christian Kirksey

The Cleveland Browns Showed Class To Two Former Players

While not the most celebrated players, Higgins and Kirksey were part of the Browns’ family. The team’s commitment to its players, even after they’ve moved on, is a testament to their loyalty. It was classy to allow Higgins and Kirksey to retire with the team that first believed in them.

The Browns didn’t stop with the classy moves this week with Kirksey and Higgins, but they are also welcoming back a fan favorite who was a massive star on Hard Knocks in 2018.

Carl Nassib Became The First Active Openly Gay NFL Player In 2021

The Browns drafted former Cleveland Browns defensive end Carl Nassib in 2016, and he spent two seasons with the team. In his last training camp with the club in 2018, Nassib put on a show during Hard Knocks as a financial advisor before getting cut, and everyone loved it.

Nassib made NFL history in 2021 when he came out as the first active gay player and had a lot of courage to be able to come out and lead the way for so many other athletes and people dealing with the same thing.

Nassib Will Announce The Browns’ Draft Pick Next Week

On Wednesday, the Browns announced that Nassib would announce the team’s second-round draft pick alongside Peggy Rajski from the Trevor Project next week.

Nassib announced a partnership with the Trevor Project in 2022, which is a nonprofit organization that focuses on suicide prevention and mental health awareness among LGBTQ youth.

Nassib is a class act and a great person to represent the Browns on the day of the NFL Draft. It will be neat to see him announce the new Cleveland Browns member.
