Jazz-Suns Injury Report: Yuta Watanabe Status Revealed, Beal Out
USA TODAY Sports

The Utah Jazz enter Sunday night taking on the Phoenix Suns for the third time of the season. While things have looked less than ideal to start, collecting a 0-2 record in their season series, tonight presents a new opportunity for Utah to bounce back on their feet after a disheartening three-point loss on Friday.

When looking at the injury report for the night, there are not many surprises, but a few keys to note:

For the Jazz, C Walker Kessler remains out of the action with a UCL sprain. He’s been inactive since November 8th dealing with an elbow injury, but the good news is that his return looks to be approaching. A re-evaluation window of two weeks marks gives hope that we may see Kessler back into the lineup during the upcoming week.

Outside of that, everyone else is fully healthy for the Jazz roster. However, it’s a bit of a different situation for the Suns.

Phoenix will be without their sharpshooting wing in F Yuta Watanabe on Sunday as he deals with a quad injury. He played 10 minutes in Friday’s game against the Jazz, putting up three points and two rebounds. The Suns will also continue to be without G Bradley Beal for some extensive time, as he continues to deal with a back injury for the next three weeks.

It’s another day without being able to see this highly-touted big three on the floor together, but Kevin Durant and Devin Booker proved they can get the job done without their third star a couple of days ago in Salt Lake City.

The Jazz will face off against the Suns at 6 PM MT in what hopes to end up as their fifth win on the season.
